The first settler on the site of the Village was Levi Cutting. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker by trade and in 1848 he erected the first home in Columbiaville, which is still standing at the south corner of Water and Lapeer Streets, as his residence.

These meetings will be held at the Marathon Township Hall 4575 Pine Street.

Village Office & DPW Dept. will be closed on Monday September 5, 2011 in honor of Labor Day

 Election Accuracy Testing will be held on September 7, 2011 at 1:00pm

Village Elections are on September 13, 2011 please come in and vote at the Village Hall 4605 Pine Street.

Property Taxes are due by September 15, 2011. If you are writing a check do NOT include your water bill payment. Make checks payable to Village of Columbiaville. Thanks!

Its Chili Cook-off time once again!! October 8, 2011 at 11:00am in the Downtown Parking Lot- To join the contest and enter your Famous Chili you can pick up an entry form at the Village office or call Denise at 810-793-4411 or 810-614-2569.

Veteran’s Park Memorial – Columbiaville Village Office is still taking orders for brick’s to be placed in Veteran’s Park.  It’s a permanent way of recognizing those who fought for our freedom.  Cost is $30 a brick please come by the office

 Blight Ordinance Enforcement and Noxious Weed Ordinance

The Village of Columbiaville is required by local ordinance to send notices to any resident that has blight or tall grass located on their property.  A notice was placed in the local newspaper and anyone in violation will be sent a notice with a deadline date for mowing or clean up.

2011 Lapeer County Tornado Siren Test will be the first Saturday of every month at 1:00pm from April through October.

 

The Parks and Recreation still has opening for one member.  They meet as needed.  For more information call Denise at 810-793-4411.

 

If you need woodchips, you can pick them up at the south end of the Ball Diamonds. This is for pick up only DO NOT dump your yard waste there.

COLUMBIAVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH:

September 16, 2011: Come play some Euchre at 6:00pm please bring a snack to share free will offering every third Friday of the month come join us.

 

September 26, 2011: Community Dinner Roast Beef or Roast Pork with sides-From 5:00pm till 7:00pm; free will offering.

Can Drive- your donations of returnable bottles & cans is needed to help fund the Holiday Depot Christmas for Kids program. Bring donations to church Mon-Wed 9am -3 pm. Or place in bag and set outside church doors. Monetary donations accepted too.

Coming in October: Holiday Depot: applications will be accepted Thurs. October 6th & 20th from 9am-2pm and 5-7 pm. Call the church office to see what you will need to bring 810-793-6363. Be prepared!
